Manny Resano brings more than 32 years in the Optimist class to JK Sailing's West Coast program, as both a top competitor and a coach who has shaped sailors around the world.
As a sailor, Manny spent seven years in the Optimist, finishing 5th at the World Championships and earning a silver medal at the Team Race World Championship. In the 25+ years since, he has coached internationally — in the United States, the US Virgin Islands, Puerto Rico, Mexico, Ecuador, Nicaragua, the Netherlands, Spain, and Ireland — producing IODA World, North American, and South American champions in both fleet and team racing, and an IODA Asian team racing champion.
Manny leads JK Sailing's West Coast program at South Coast Corinthian Yacht Club in California, and serves as Performance Director of the US National Optimist Team.
